Shared entrance, separate payments

Treat Lavilleon and the Seven Coloured Earth Geopark as separate parts of your Chamarel budget. Lavilleon has no general entrance charge, but that does not make its activities free. The payment model lets you choose what to do rather than buying a geopark ticket as a prerequisite.

If your day is only about Lavilleon, make that destination clear when you reach the shared entrance. If you also want to visit the coloured earth, waterfall viewpoints or geopark tortoises, budget for geopark admission separately. Passing through the same entrance does not give access to both sets of experiences, and buying either does not replace payment for the other.

Getting in and planning your arrival

Enter through the Seven Coloured Earth entrance and follow the signs for Lavilleon Adventure Park. Use those directions rather than treating the coloured-earth visitor area as your destination. Lavilleon opens daily from 09:00 to 17:00, so plan your activity visit around its own hours rather than those of the neighbouring geopark.

Opening hours are not start times for individual activities. When combining several stops, ask Lavilleon about the time needed for your chosen activities before fixing a departure time with your driver. Call +230 483 4227.

Choose activities before building the day

The official activity list includes zipline, archery, via ferrata, horse riding and forest walks. Start with the activity you actually want to do, then work out whether others fit your time and budget. There is no need to assume that a visit means completing the whole list.

For a mixed group, discuss preferences before making arrangements. Someone interested in archery may want a different visit from someone planning via ferrata or a forest walk. Individual restrictions apply to activities, so an activity being listed does not establish that every member of the group can participate. This matters particularly when arranging a family visit or choosing activities for people with different physical needs.

Arrange via ferrata at least 48 hours ahead

Via ferrata needs advance planning. Lavilleon advises emailing at least 48 hours ahead because via ferrata needs advance arrangements. Do not leave this activity as an unarranged addition to a same-day visit to the geopark. Contacting the park in advance should be part of choosing your visit date.

Leave room for weather interruptions

Heavy rain or wind pauses activities at Lavilleon. Daily opening therefore does not mean uninterrupted activity operation throughout the day. Leave some flexibility around your visit rather than placing an activity immediately before a fixed departure or another timed commitment.

A weather pause does not guarantee a particular restart time. Ask the park about your activity before travelling in unsettled conditions, and read the cancellation or rescheduling terms attached to your booking.

Combining adventure activities with the geopark

If you want both Lavilleon and the Seven Coloured Earth, organise any advance activity arrangements first, then fit sightseeing around them. Keep the two costs separate when comparing plans. This makes the choice straightforward: a Lavilleon-only visit avoids geopark admission, while a combined visit needs both the relevant activity payments and the geopark ticket.
